Virtual Places Reunion 2000
What a lot of people might think is a little crazy and nervy, I found challenging and a big adventure. I met all these people on the internet and talked to them for years and did the unthinkable.... traveled to Canada to meet them and their families. Debbie & Karen (pictured below with me) invited me to to go to Canada for a VP (virtual places) friend reunion. I know my friends thought I was nuts, but it's hard to explain the bond I formed with these people from all over the country over the internet. They were like me, just family oriented hard working people that wanted to meet folks from other walks of life. I really came to love them all. I brought them Texas t-shirts and they gave me shirts from Canada. But we exchanged a lot more than shirts...friendships and stories of our real lives at home. We lost contact, but they touched my life and I will never forget them.
The friends were great and scenery was awesome. Debbie's dad owned the camping area where we stayed. Lots of little cabins along a clear running stream. The country was breathtaking and everyone I met in Canada were so nice. We went into Bancroft to shop and it was a neat experience.
